She Seems To Love It
Boys and men,
Seem to find themselves staring.
Always staring,
At her.
The way she walks,
Talks, and laughs.
It's as though,
She's doing it on purpose.
She wears make-up,
Thick, but not too thick.
Her clothes are branded items,
Bought wastefully, using money like water.
She loves it though,
Her vanity.
She doesn't mind,
The ogling eyes.
Or having to waste
All that money.
She finds it satisfying,
To know she’s wanted.
It feels good,
To be wanted.
She doesn’t care,
That she’s like a piece of meat.
It’s almost like being,
The only woman in the world.
That’s why she loves it,
Her vanity.

Wrote this poem for the monthly competition held by

The topic is "Vanity".
I wanted to change the perspective that I usually write from for this poem.. which meant that I was going to pick something, and write from that something's point of view. In this case a vain woman. It's about how even though, people like me, might find it annoying and disgraceful, she doesn't because it makes her feel good about herself.
